Win $5000 to spend fulfilling your dream!

Everyone has dreams. I have a whole list! What I really want to know, though, is this: What’s your dream? What have you always wanted to do, but haven’t had the opportunity to yet? Do you have a project do you want to do, or a place do you want to visit? Or maybe there’s a skill or language you’ve always wanted to learn?

Contest: Want ,000 to Make Your Dream Happen?

Hmmm…. What could I do with $5000??

I have a number of dreams. For starters, I’ve always wanted to learn Spanish. I also want to find more time to paint and make sculptures, and learn new art skills (like, how does Banksy do it?!) Oh yeah, and I want to (someday) create an affordable line of organic, vegan pet food. I also have plans for women-run learning centers and co-ops in Africa. Oh, and a farm animal sanctuary. Yeah. The list goes on…

With that in mind, Urbanette Magazine has partnered with Skintimate, the brand that brought you the “Inner Beauty Pageant” (and all those sweet-smelling shave gels in flavors like Flirty Mango and Mandarin Burst), to help make your dreams come true. Yup, six lucky contestants will get $5,000 to put towards that trip they’ve always wanted to take, that career shift they’ve always wanted to make or provide support for your favorite charity. The only hard part is narrowing down all the choices and picking one thing you’re dying to cross off your bucket list.

Here’s how to enter the Skintimate Shave Gel Make It Happen contest for a chance to win $5,000 to turn your dreams into a reality (plus, a year’s supply of Skintimate Shave Gel!)

  • Upload a photo or short video that best represents your aspirations, dreams and goals.
  • There are three categories for submissions:
    • school/career: want to learn programming, or take time off to write your first novel?
    • personal passion: want to backpack across Europe, or learn a musical instrument?
    • good deeds: want to set up an orphanage in India, or start a charity?
  • Each category will have one photo winner and one video winner.
  • The contest runs from August 6th to September 9th, 2014, and the six winners will be announced the week of September 22nd.

Contest: Want ,000 to Make Your Dream Happen?

The goal of the Skintimate “Make it Happen” Contest, and Urbanette Magazine in general, is to inspire you (and all women), to go after your dreams. It makes a huge difference in any woman’s life to do whatever it takes to wake up every morning feeling inspired. I do that by making my mornings reflective.

Here’s how I do it: First, I leave my blinds open so that I wake up to sunlight, instead of darkness. It makes it much easier to feel happy and awake in the morning. Second, I make myself an organic protein and greens shake and resist the urge to check my email. I take a quick, cool shower using Skintimate Shave Gel (because the fragrances make me feel especially alive, and the Vitamin E and Olive Butter makes my skin feel soooo soft). Then, I meditate for fifteen minutes while my hair dries. Once I get to my desk, I make a ‘Things I’m Grateful For’ list (to keep everything in perspective), a ‘Top 5 Bucket List’ (things I want to accomplish this year) and a ‘Top 5 To-Do’s for Today’ list (to keep me on track each day). Just doing those little things has made a huge difference on my happiness and productivity, and has given me an even more optimistic outlook on life.

I hope you take advantage of this great opportunity to bring your dreams to reality, and make the leap into a happier and more fulfilled life!

I would love to go to Crete and spend some time walking the streets and sitting in cafes and write the book I've had outlined for years. I'm definitely going to have to do this contest.

The 3 morning lists are great ideas. I'm going to give that a try! Thank you : )
